GOODIES: I dare you to listen to this whole song.

Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs is the soundtrack maestro for the upcoming ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ and they just released a single, available to buy tomorrow on iTunes.

Head over to its myspace page to listen to it.

And then tell me at which point you turned it off.

Mine was :33.

Egads.  Annoying.  Right?  I think Karen O is the ultimate in cool and it seems like such a perfect collaboration, but honestly I don’t even care that much that this sucks.   I do have doubts about this movie.  I’m just curious as hell if it’s gonna get the job done and this song does nothing to ease nor confirm those doubts.

On a side note: I wanted to read the book again, a little refresher, so the last time I was at Borders I hunted for a copy to just sit and read through.  But wow, the children’s section was so hard to navigate, I couldn’t find it!

Good story, to be continued…

Where The Wild Things Are

Illustration from Sendak’s ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ – a friggin’ classic!

Warner Bros. Studios must have their Beer Goggles on – because they’re NUTS to think that they have to prove to us that having Spike take on Where The Wild Things Are is a good idea. Um. OF COURSE it is. While I think the Spike/Maurice/Eggers behind the scenes footage was great to watch, according to THR, the video was made because Warner Bros. was freakin’ out about people thinking the adaptation would be too weird. Much like the Harry Potters, Wild Things was ripped from my imagination. Here’s the vid that was first shown at Comic-Con and is now available online:
