At First Sight: Gerard plays the badie.

{{sigh}} Gerard.

Maybe it had something to do with being introduced to the world as a bad ass good guy with rippling abs, but Gerard had me at “This is Sparta!” I think it’s the accent that really did me in. Anyway, after some romance comedy and heist gigs, we finally get to see Gerard as the bad guy (even though he starts out as the good guy) and I’m all for it. Not to mention he’s teamed up with Jamie Foxx. Trailer? Why sure:

So um, yea. Plot is interesting enough but really? Law Abiding Citizen? Look. Some words to film execs everywhere: if you need to hire someone to think up a better film title, please do it. Don’t setlle for things like Law Abiding Citizen. Yeesh.

STALKING: ’300′ Sequel

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

All kinds of half-nakedness in Miller’s ’300.’ A sequel? Why, sure!

Graphic novelist Frank Miller is placing the final ink blots on the pages of 300‘s yet-to-be-named sequel. I know 300 received mixed reviews, but I effing LOVED it.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, it is to be determined whether or not writer Kurt Johnstad and director Zack Snyder will be back on board. Um. They’d better be. Cause how lame would it be to have a sequel that isn’t stylistically consistent? Not that THAT hasn’t been done before, but I’d like to avoid it at all costs. Did you hear that Kurt? Zack?

Now, with all of the rushed sequel-ness floating around the biz, THR writer Steven Zeitchik nicely points out Miller’s ‘deliberate pace’ in writing the new installment. I, for one, can appreciate his not churning ‘em out. Thank goodness he’s already insanely rich and doesn’t have to consider this franchise as his money maker. Take your time Frank, make it good.

While we can’t have Gerard’s abs back, I’d LOVE to see who gets cast in this bad boy.
