Where The Wild Things Are

Illustration from Sendak’s ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ – a friggin’ classic!

Warner Bros. Studios must have their Beer Goggles on – because they’re NUTS to think that they have to prove to us that having Spike take on Where The Wild Things Are is a good idea. Um. OF COURSE it is. While I think the Spike/Maurice/Eggers behind the scenes footage was great to watch, according to THR, the video was made because Warner Bros. was freakin’ out about people thinking the adaptation would be too weird. Much like the Harry Potters, Wild Things was ripped from my imagination. Here’s the vid that was first shown at Comic-Con and is now available online:

BEER GOGGLES: Italian Spiderman

So I have this friend. And he’s Italian. But that has NOTHING to do with the fact that he loves the most random shit. Like this, for instance. And yes, this counts as a movie trailer.

BEER GOGGLES: ‘MacGruber’ eyes advanced cast

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

Ok, so as a die hard MacGruber fan for life, I can say this:  yippee!

macgruber_phillippe_kilmer

From the  The Hollywood Reporter:

“Ryan Phillippe is in negotiations to star in the feature, with Val Kilmer in negotiations to also join the Relativity Media production. Will Forte and Kristen Wiig are reprising their roles from the skits.

Jorma Taccone, who created the character and directed most of the skits, is helming; “SNL” producer and creator Lorne Michaels is producing.”

I heard Will Forte talk about the movie on some late night situation and I was like ‘oh hells yeah.’  And now Val Kilmer?!, uhhh ‘double hells yeah.’   And yet, this could still be bad right?  The well-timed explosion after a roughly 2 minute clip is 70% of the funny so I’m curious how it will translate.  And I wouldn’t say Will Forte and Jorma Taccone are completely trustworthy, see The Brothers Solomon and Hot Rod, respectively.  But shit, who cares, let’s all see it with our cargo vests and beer goggles on.
